4 things to remember to get you through the chaos and into the calm

  1. Jesus was with them in the boat, and he is with you in the middle of your storm – Whatever it is that you’re going through.

  2. Jesus was at peace, even though there was a raging storm. So, I can be at peace, and you can be at peace in the middle of our storms, too.

  3. The disciples knew who to ask for help when they were afraid, and Jesus answered them and calmed the storm.

  4. Jesus asked them a probing question “why are you afraid?” … we should ask ourselves that question and then be honest, knowing that we are so deeply loved and there’s nothing that will ever change God’s love for us.

“And when he got into the boat, his disciples followed him. And behold, there arose a great storm on the sea, so that the boat was being swamped by the waves; but he was asleep. And they went and woke him, saying, “Save us, Lord; we are perishing.” And he said to them, “Why are you afraid, O you of little faith?” Then he rose and rebuked the winds and the sea, and there was a great calm. And the men marveled, saying, “What sort of man is this, that even winds and sea obey him?””
