How to Create a Clear, Confident “I Help” Statement
Your message matters, and the way you communicate what you do shapes how confidently you show up and how clearly others understand the value you bring. In this episode, I’m breaking down the four simple steps that will help you create a powerful “I help” statement that reflects your calling and attracts the people God is assigning to you.
✦ Why Your Statement Matters
One simple sentence can shift how you speak about what you do, how confident you feel, and how clearly others understand your value.
✦ Step 1: Who You Help
Get specific — not “women,” not “entrepreneurs,” but the exact person God is calling you to serve.
✦ Step 2: The Problem You Solve
Identify the big pain point your person is experiencing before they find you (not a small, surface-level annoyance).
✦ Step 3: The Transformation or Result
Paint a clear picture of what life can look like after working with you.
✦ Step 4: Your Unique Method or Approach
The differentiator that sets your process apart — biblical principles, mindset work, systems, or something else.
✦ Putting It All Together
A simple template you can use right now to create your full “I help” statement.
✦ Why Clarity Reflects God’s Nature
God is a God of order and peace — clear communication honors Him and helps people understand exactly how you can serve them.
Clarify Your Calling with God: Practical Takeaways
- ✦ Ask yourself: “If someone asked me what I do, could I answer clearly in one sentence?”
- ✦ Get extremely specific about your audience — narrow it down more than feels comfortable.
- ✦ Identify the core problem your audience is stuck in — the “Egypt” God has assigned you to help them escape.
- ✦ Write out the transformation your client experiences (freedom, breakthrough, peace, results, etc.).
- ✦ Determine the unique method God has given you — the approach that differentiates you.
- ✦ Use the template: I help [who] who struggle with [problem] to [result] through [method].
- Keep it simple and concise; cut unnecessary words and aim for a 5th-grade reading level.
- ✦ Read your “I help” statement out loud to someone and ask if anything is confusing or unclear.
- ✦ Pray over your statement and ask the Holy Spirit to refine who you’re called to serve.
- ✦ Share your finalized “I help” statement with Rachel on Instagram for feedback.
