4 Steps to Being Filled to Overflow
Nehemiah 8:10 says that the joy of the Lord is our strength, so it makes sense that when the enemy of our souls wants to weaken us – instead of coming at us head on, the war is fought on our joy.
So how do we keep our joy?
The key is found in Romans 15:13. “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”
According to this verse – the key to JOY is TRUST. It says “AS YOU TRUST HIM” that you will be filled with joy and peace. But the end goal isn’t just being filled – the verse goes on to say “so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”
Without hope, all sorts of bad things happen. We go down roads that lead to places that we don’t want to go.
So if the key to having hope and joy and peace is trust, how do we trust God more?
We have to get to know Him. Knowing God leads to trusting God because He is trustworthy.
If you’re in need of strength today, here are the 4 steps in the journey to trusting God and overflowing with hope, joy, and peace.
- Knowing God leads to Trusting God.
- Trusting God leads to an overflow of hope.
- The God of hope fills us with His joy.
- The Joy of the Lord is our strength.
