Steps to Embrace Freedom in Christ

As we dig into a third episode on the story of Lazarus, we’re looking at tangible ways to find freedom in Christ.

This powerful narrative serves as a mirror to our spiritual lives. Like Lazarus, we are called forth from death to life by Jesus, yet often remain hindered by the remnants of our past – our sins, lies, and old ways of thinking.

We’re sharing the ways that we can find true freedom, rooted in a deep, personal relationship with Jesus and His Word.

  • Scripture Engagement:
The Bible is a transformative power in our lives. By reading, meditating, and memorizing pivotal passages like Psalm 119 and Colossians 3:1-17, we invite God’s Word to renew our minds, change our perspectives, and align our thoughts with divine truths. This practice is foundational for spiritual growth and freedom in Christ, as it anchors us in God’s promises and equips us to face life’s challenges with faith and wisdom.

  • Worship Through Singing:
This serves as a profound way to deepen our connection with God. Engaging in worship, whether alone or in a community, allows us to express our love, gratitude, and devotion to God. Singing praises liberates our spirit, helps to shift our focus from our circumstances to God’s greatness, and fosters an intimate relationship with our Creator. Worship becomes a vehicle for experiencing God’s presence and celebrating His faithfulness in our lives.

  • Personal Reflection and Prayer:
These are essential practices for nurturing our relationship with God and experiencing freedom in Christ. Through prayer, we communicate with God, share our hearts, seek guidance, and find peace in His presence.

Scripture From This Episode

John 11:38-44 NIV

38 Jesus, once more deeply moved, came to the tomb. It was a cave with a stone laid across the entrance. 39 “Take away the stone,” he said.

“But, Lord,” said Martha, the sister of the dead man, “by this time there is a bad odor, for he has been there four days.”

40 Then Jesus said, “Did I not tell you that if you believe, you will see the glory of God?”

41 So they took away the stone. Then Jesus looked up and said, “Father, I thank you that you have heard me. 42 I knew that you always hear me, but I said this for the benefit of the people standing here, that they may believe that you sent me.”

43 When he had said this, Jesus called in a loud voice, “Lazarus, come out!” 44 The dead man came out, his hands and feet wrapped with strips of linen, and a cloth around his face.

Jesus said to them, “Take off the grave clothes and let him go.”
